How to Use the QC Checker
Evaluate your QC photos systematically:
Select your product category. Choose from sneakers, bags, jackets, watches, t-shirts/hoodies, accessories, electronics, or other items. Each category has tailored quality criteria.
Rate each criterion. Review your QC photos and rate each quality aspect on a 1-5 star scale. Each criterion has a description and a weight percentage indicating its importance.
Get your verdict. Click to analyze — the tool calculates a weighted overall score and provides a GL or RL recommendation with a detailed breakdown.
Review the breakdown. See individual scores for each criterion, their weights, and notes on quality level. Use this to identify specific areas of concern.
Understanding GL and RL
GL and RL are standard terms in the QC community:
GL (Green Light): The item passes quality inspection. It's safe to approve shipping to your address. Minor imperfections may exist but are within acceptable range.
RL (Red Light): The item has noticeable quality issues. You should request an exchange or replacement from the seller through your agent.
Borderline: Scores between GL and RL territory. Consider requesting additional photos of specific areas before deciding. Your agent can usually take extra photos for free or a small fee.
Scoring ranges: 90%+ is excellent GL, 75-89% is GL with minor flaws, 60-74% is borderline, 40-59% is RL, and below 40% is a definite RL with major issues.
QC Photo Review Tips
Get the most accurate QC evaluation:
- Request all angles — Ask your agent for photos from every angle: front, back, sides, sole (for shoes), interior, tags, and close-ups of logos and stitching.
- Compare with retail photos — Have retail reference photos open side-by-side with your QC images for accurate comparison.
- Consider natural lighting — Warehouse lighting can make colors appear different. Ask for natural light photos if color accuracy is critical.
- Check batch consistency — Some batches are better than others. If you RL, the replacement from the same batch may have similar issues.
- Be realistic — No product is perfect. Focus on flaws that would be visible from arm's length during normal wear.
